PRACTICAL INFORMATION

As a breeder of the Shiloh Shepherd, I attach great importance to finding the right owner for every dog entrusted to us. To do this, I follow a process with the interested puppy buyer, during which we discuss your wishes and the expectations you have for a dog in detail. This includes the choice between having a companion dog and a dog that, if it meets the established criteria, could be suitable for breeding.

At eight weeks of age, puppies are assessed based on their conformation and a series of tests.

These tests allow us to assess various aspects, such as:

  • Social interaction and affinity with people.

  • Degree of independence.

  • Tendency to be submissive or dominant.

  • Trainability (taking stubbornness into account).

  • Pain tolerance threshold.

  • Presence of hunting, playing and retrieving instincts.

  • Reaction to loud noises.

  • Level of intelligence.

The results of these tests allow me to make an informed match between each puppy and its future owner.

Due to the continued development of the Shiloh Shepherd breed, it is important that prospective Shiloh Shepherd puppy owners are aware of, and areprepared to participate in, the following:

  • An examination of the dog's/puppy's hips and elbows using the PennHip method, performed by a veterinarian certified in this field.

  • A heart examination.

  • A temperament test, carried out after the first year of the dog's life.

This allows us to guarantee the well-being of the Shiloh Shepherd and their future owners.

I look forward to working with you to find the right dog and to seeing these beautiful puppies develop and flourish in loving, responsible homes. Read more practical information about the Shiloh Sheperd on the FAQ page of this website.
